Yelverton, City Manager From: Chris Tribble, Director of Community Services Subject: Approve Revisions to the Policy for the Provision of Athletic Facilities Action Requested: City Council consideration of revisions to the Policy for the Provision of Athletic Facilities Background Information: The purpose of the Policy for the Provision of Athletic Facilities is to ensure the most appropriate and operationally sustainable allocation of the City owned athletic facility assets. The policy is included as an exhibit to each of the City’s current Facilities Utilization Agreements. The purpose of this item is for the City Council to consider the approval of a revised Policy for the Provision of Athletic Facilities. As per the direction of City Council at their December 19, 2017 meeting, Mayor Pro Tem Randy Williamson, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Shawn McCaskill, and Council Member John Huffman were assigned to lead a process of reviewing potential policy revisions to ensure the most appropriate and operationally sustainable allocation of City-owned athletic facility assets. A joint work session was held on February 12, 2018 and attended by the three City Council members as well as the Parks and Recreation Board. The feedback and recommendations received from the work session were discussed by the City Council at their February 20, 2018 City Council meeting, and direction was provided to staff as to what revisions have been included in the attached revised policy. All of the revisions are indicated in red.
