communication channels in the City, as well as discussed new webpages coming
soon such as Champions Club and the White Chapel construction project
(Emerald to SH 114). The Committee asked about metrics through channels
such as video on demand and the City's cable channel. Staff mentioned that
metrics can be pulled in real time. Staff mentioned that the City of Southlake
webpages are optimized to be shared to social media. The Committee asked
whether the City graphs or tracks engagement or usage, and staff responded
yes. The Committee mentioned that for projects such as White Chapel
construction, the group needs a way to get information straight from the City. The
Committee mentioned that this may be a good topic for a focus group (White
Chapel communication tool). The Committee asked about attempting to measure
the online ambassadorship of the CEC when an information push is coming. Pilar
mentioned the best way to measure and be consistent is sharing from the
source. The Committee asked if staff could put together a guide of steps and do
a test before we get to the White Chapel construction page. Lauren mentioned
that staff would send a digital copy of the City's communication outlets. The
Committee asked if this information was on the City's website (communication
outlets) and staff mentioned that the social media page needs to be updated.
3. Nominate Community Engagement Committee Officers. This item was tabled
to a future meeting.
