At this point I am speaking for myself from an outsider's perspective looking in. . First, I hope that my dothebump.com website offers me some credibility in that I am not for anyone, but rather everyone! My thoughts: • Traveling from westbound 1709, 1 view where the new development is located as the gateway to our City With that said, the development becomes the first impression for new visitors. Considering that you asked for more creativity in green/open space and other amenities, I do not believe your concerns have been met by simply removing 5 homes from the center of the development. A more creative approach would have been to spread the green space out more evenly throughout the development, and adding things such as basketball, tennis courts and walking trails. Looking at the development as a whole, I would only be interested in the lots in the middle area. • Setting the flood area aside, these two properties offer much more use than what is being offered. • From a home buyers perspective, I would be extremely concerned about residential density and traffic issues getting to and from the market place. • As the saying goes, "anyone can see an accident after it happens", creating an emergency exit through Sienna just makes sense for safety reasons. Creating an emergency exit right back to the same street doesn't. The property owners in Sienna had to know this was coming given the fact of the stub out built into their development from the very beginning. • Retaining the rural and country appeal by maybe developing a city park on the Wiesman's property (at least for now) seems to be the best fit for everyone. And, will maintain what made our city so attractive. On a final note, I do not want any of my personal thoughts to detract from my parent's main concerns and ask that you consider theirs first. You have an extremely difficult job and my family respects and greatly appreciate all that you do for our city.
