AND ZONING COMMISSION MINUTES DECEMBER 11, 2017

CITY COUNCIL PRESENT: Mayor Laura Hill, Mayor Pro Tern Randy Williamson,
Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Shawn McCaskill, and Councilmembers Shahid Shafi, Chad
Patton, John Huffman, and Christopher Archer.

STAFF PRESENT: City Manager Shana Yelverton, Assistant City Manager Ben
Thatcher, Assistant City Manager & Director of Economic Development and Tourism
Alison Orlowski, Deputy Director of Marketing and Communications Pilar Schank, Chief
Financial Officer Sharen Jackson, Director of Community Services Chris Tribble, Deputy
Director of Community Services Kate Meacham, Deputy Director of Community
Services Candice Edmondson, Police Chief James Brandon, Senior Director of
Planning and Development Services Ken Baker, Director of Public Works Rob Cohen,
and City Secretary Carol Borges.
1. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Laura Hill at 6:14pm. Mayor Hill
welcomed board members and the public in attendance and stated the purpose
of the meeting is to get all members on the same page regarding amendments to
the Southlake 2030 Parks, Recreation, Open Space & Community Facilities
Master Plan.

2. CITY MANAGER COMMENTS
City Manager Shana Yelverton thanked the elected and appointed officials for the
opportunity for staff to present updates and receive input as to how to proceed.
3. SPDC FINANCIAL UPDATE
Chief Financial Officer Sharen Jackson presented SPDC financial data and
answered questions from Council and Board members.
4. SOUTHLAKE PARKS, RECREATION, OPEN SPACE & COMMUNITY
FACILITIES MASTER PLAN — STATUS UPDATE
Senior Director of Planning and Development Services Ken Baker presented the
PROCF Plan and answered questions from Council and Board members.
5. DISCUSS SOUTHLAKE 2030 POTENTIAL AMENDMENTS
Director of Community Services Chris Tribble presented potential amendments to
the Southlake 2030 Plan and answered questions from Council and Board
members.
6. ADJOURNMENT
Mayor Hill again thanked Council and Board members for their attendance and
service to the community, and staff for their commitment to sound fiscal
responsibility. Mayor Hill adjourned the meeting at 7:35pm.
