To: Shana Yelverton, City Manager
From: Carol Ann Borges, City Secretary
Subject: Resolution No. 17-044, Appointing a City Council member to the Tax
Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ) No. 1 Board.
Action
Requested: Approve Resolution No. 17-044, Appointing a City Council member
to fill the vacancy on the Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ)
No. 1 Board
Background
Information: Several Southlake boards include City Council appointees. All
terms are two years, unless the member is appointed to fulfill a
vacancy. Invariably board terms do not correspond with the elected
official's term in office. As a result, outgoing Council members
create vacancies within boards.
The following appointment is now required by Council.
• Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone No 1: Fill one vacancy
created by the resignation of Gary Fawks with a term set to
expire in June 2018 (all Councilmembers are members of
the T1RZ).
