Schrickel, Rollins and Associates, Inc., on behalf of the City of Southlake, is requesting approval of a Zoning Change and Site Plan for DPS North and approval of a site plan for North
Park to add a wall ball court. The properties are located at 100 and 200 E. Dove Road.

is approximately 67 ft. by 32 ft. with an 8 ft. by 28 ft. concrete pad with two benches The wall ball court will also include a sidewalk connection to the existing park sidewalk, The
wall ball court also has two sport light poles located on the north and south side. Though not shown on this site plan exhibit there are two red oak trees proposed to be planted,

This is the proposed landscape plan for the wall ball court. There will be two trees installed to the east of the wall ball court. Bermuda grass sod will be installed in areas disturbed
by construction. The court itself is a synthetic turf.

Wall Ball Court Elevation Details
The wall ball court wall is approximately 16’-4” in height by 32’-10” wide and constructed of Hill Country Stone CMU block with a graffiti resistant coating. The end walls will be approximately
16’4” in height by 7’-6” wide and be faced with a Milsap sandstone to match the stone wall at the concession stand. A cast stone logo will be inset into the end walls.

Lighting Details
VARIANCES TO LIGHTING HAVE BEEN REQUESTED:
All lighting must comply with the Lighting Ordinance No. 693, as amended, with regard to type of lighting, intensity, glare and spill-over.
Variances for Sport Lighting Design at the North Park Wall Ball Court:
Section 4- Luminaires on poles over 42 inches in height shall be either high pressure sodium lights or neutral
or warm correlated color temperature LED lights (temperature equal to or less than 4300 degrees Kelvin) or other lights giving a similar soft lighting effect. Applicant is requesting
the sports lighting at the North Park Wall Ball Court be allowed to be constructed with lighting that matches the adjacent, existing sports lighting within the North Park property of
4500 degrees Kelvin (exceeding the 4300 degrees Kelvin)
Section 5- The maximum outdoor computed or measured illumination level on a property shall not exceed 20 foot candles outdoors
at any point, except that lighting under canopies (such as service stations) shall not exceed 30 foot candles. Applicant is requesting the sports lighting at the North Park Wall Ball
Court be allowed to be constructed with lighting levels that provide a safe environment for the user/player and that is no greater than the adjacent, existing sport lighting with the
North Park property (exceeding the allowable 20 foot candles)
These are lighting details for the wall ball court. The light poles will be 40 ft. tall with LED sports lighting. Two variances are being request for the LED lights and the illumination
levels. The applicant is requesting the sports lighting at the North Park Wall Ball Court be allowed to be constructed with lighting that matches the adjacent, existing sports lighting
within the North Park property of 4500 degrees Kelvin (exceeding the 4300 degrees Kelvin) and that the sports lighting at the North Park Wall Ball Court be allowed to be constructed
with lighting levels that provide a safe environment for the user/player and that is no greater than the adjacent, existing sport lighting with the North Park property (exceeding the
allowable 20 foot candles)

These are photographs show the light at the Bicentennial Park baseball fields and the North Park fields. The proposed lights for the wall ball court are the same lighting system at
North Park, Bicentennial Park and the Southlake Sports Complex. The shielded LED light fixtures meet the sports lighting illumination levels, reduce glare and light spillage, and reduce
energy costs.
