Good evening Mayor and members of the City Council. Item 4I is the consideration of a donation of “Back the Blue” painting from Deanna Kienast.

Requested Action
City Council approval of the donation of “Back the Blue” painting from Deanna Kienast
The purpose of this item is to seek City Council’s approval to accept the donation of the “Back the Blue” painting from local artist Deanne Kienast for the City’s public art collection.
If
approved, the “Police” theme piece will be hung in the Community Room at the Southlake Department of Public Safety Headquarters.

Proposed Artwork
Police themed artwork will be hung in the Community Room at DPS Headquarters
Featured at the Sept 10, 2017 “Waves of Color” reception and currently on display until November 3rd in
Southlake Town Hall lobby
36” x 48” Original oil painting
The painting is police themed and was featured in the art gallery reception and exhibit event held in Town Hall lobby on September 10, 2017. The piece would be installed after the
exhibit concludes on November 3rd.

No future maintenance costs anticipated
Financial Considerations
There is minimal cost to the City for acceptance and placement of the proposed donation.
No future costs are anticipated, and no annual funds will be allocated to maintaining the painting.
If upon annual inspection, the painting’s condition warrants repair or attention, cost for maintenance of the painting will be established and included for budget approval.
