CORPORATION MEETING: JUNE 16, 2009

Parks and Recreation Board Members present: President John Slocum, and Board
members Margaret Adams, Sherry Berman, Elaine Cox, Emily Galpin, Julie Landesberg, and
William S. Packer.
Parks and Recreation Board Members absent: Board Members Ken Goodman and Purvi
Parakh.
Board Members present: President Carolyn Morris, Vice-President Sherry Berman,
Secretary Virginia M. Muzyka, and Board Member John Slocum.
Board Members absent: Board Members Gregory Jones and Pamela A. Muller. (Per the By-
laws of the Southlake Parks Development Corporation, Board Member Vernon Stansell is no
longer eligible to serve on the board since his term on City Council ended.)
Staff present: Director of Community Services Chris Tribble, Interim Director of Community
Services Alison Ortowski, Director of Finance Sharen Jackson, and Deputy City Secretary
Tara Brooks.
Agenda Item No. 1. Call to order. The Parks and Recreation Board meeting was called to
order by President Slocum at 4:36 p.m. The Southlake Parks Development Corporation Board
meeting was called to order by President Morris at 4:36 p.m.
Agenda Item No. 2. Reports: Administrative Comments. Director Tribble announced there
would be a Joint Parks and Recreation Board and Southlake Parks Development Corporation
meeting on July 13, 2009. However, this might date might change and Community Services
Administrative Secretary Linda Carpenter would be contacting the members about other
possible dates.
Agenda Item No. 3: Consent Agenda. There were no consent items on this agenda.
REGULAR AGENDA:
Agenda Item No. 4. Public Forum. No one spoke during the public forum.
Agenda Item No. 5A. Recommendation to approve a professional services contract with
Schrickel Rollins and Associates, Inc. for the engineering and design of north multi-purpose
fields and related improvements. Director Tribble presented this item to the Boards. Director
Tribble and Director Jackson answered the Boards' questions.
The Boards discussed this item specifically as it relates to sidewalks, design schedules,
lighting, traffic studies, public comment opportunities, and budget issues.
President Slocum asked if there was a motion from the Parks and Recreation Board.

Motion was made to recommend approval of a professional services contract with Schrickel,

President Morris asked if there was a motion from the Southlake Parks Development
Corporation meeting.
