Keep up the good work. A SENIOR'S PRAYER: Take us under your care for we are in need. Some of us are living alone having lost our spouse, or we are living uncomfortably with an offspring, and or in-law. At this time, we recognize that our closest friends are other seniors. Give them the strength, faith, and courage to cope with their situation, and more importantly, to find ways to support other senior friends who are experiencing the same environment. Some of us believe that the reason we are still here is for each other; we pray that you will support our mission to support each other. Amen. Regards, Welles Fendrich" "A great place for the seniors, lots of things to do and places to go; great lunches on Mondays and don't forget the director, she is one-of-a-kind marvelous." "Dear Mrs. Phelps: My wife and I are relatively new to Texas. A little over two years ago I had a stroke and a seizure at our condo in Florida. Our daughter and son in law, being the incredible children they are, insisted we come and live with them in Texas. I was very concerned about moving to an area with the only people we knew were our children and grandchildren. Fortunately, our daughter made an effort to take us to a few local senior centers. Yours was the most welcoming and happy. You introduced us to everyone and we joined the old center. When the Marq was finished we migrated here. Soheila, your staff, your instructors and the wonderful senior citizens who bring life to the center are a Godsend to us. I was becoming depressed and "alone" with no Texas friends. The folks in the center have become our Texas family. I enjoy every minute I spend with you all; taking exercise classes, snacking, learning new things (yes even at 81 I can still learn). Your staff has gone out of their way to be helpful to me and treat us as family We are all quick to complain, but often forget to praise people who make a positive difference in our lives.... Sincerely, Art Sirkin Senior Advisory Commission 3'd Quarter Report (April-May-June 2017)
