3. REPORTS
3A. Librarian's Report
City Librarian Pfledderer reviewed the statistics and said the print circulation was
up slightly and digital circulation was also up. She mentioned the Federal
Government Administration may defund the Institute of Museum and Library
Services funding. Certain library programs including EBSCO and ILL are funded
by them so we may lose funding in 2018. This still needs to be determined but
she wanted to bring it to the Board's attention. She noted the CLOUD library is
doing well and we can expect over 100,000 audiobook titles once Bibliotheca
joins us.
4. DISCUSSION
4A. Summer Kick Off and Camp Big Read
City Librarian Pfledderer noted the Kick Off event is held every year and
sponsors can participate if they pay the sponsorship fee. The hours have been
changed to 5-8 PM on Saturday, June 3. Camp Big Read is the summer reading
program and it kicks off that weekend too. Prizes are awarded for reading hours
and there will be lots of exciting activities planned for the summer.
4B. CSI Program Registration
City Librarian Pfledderer said that Community Services Department has setup a
new program registration program and the Library has a page. There have been
some bugs and Finance is trying to resolve the issues with the software. In the
meantime, staff is working with patrons to register to help ease frustration.
4C. Board Meetings
City Librarian Pfledderer mentioned the upcoming June 28 joint meeting and
wanted to make sure everyone was aware of it and on the same page. There will
not be a July meeting so the next regular Library board meeting will be in August.
5. PUBLIC FORUM
City Librarian Pfledderer opened the public forum at 6:53 p.m. and asked for
anyone wishing to speak to come forward. There being no questions, the public
forum was closed at 6:53 p.m.
