Item 6D - Detailed Support DocumentAdditional information regarding Camp Gladiator: PROGRAM: 4-week camp progression: • Week 1 - Muscular and Cardiovascular Endurance • Week 2 - Strength and Agility • Week 3 - High Intensity Interval week • Week 4 - Metabolic Conditioning TRAINERS: Each camp has one-two Primary Trainers. These are the trainers who manage and own that specific camp location, and they are the ones who are there 90% of the time. If, for some reason, those trainers have to be absent from a class, then they will use another Camp Gladiator trainer to fill in for them. There are several different trainers who could possibly substitute for that class. Since each location has its own trainer, the St. John's workout will not be the same as the Hobby Lobby workout. Each class lasts 60 minutes + 30 minutes prior to set-up and 30 minutes after to breakdown. MUSIC / NOISE MANAGEMENT: A wireless music box/speaker plays music that is streamed from each trainer's phone. They typically have a playlist of workout music. At times a megaphone might be used, however, that depends on the size of the crowd and the surrounding noise (i.e., road traffic). Whistles are also often used during the workout. If a noise complaint is received, Camp Gladiator will always work with the individual/neighborhood to come up with a solution. Each solution may be different, depending on the location/time of the class, so each solution is different as well. However, Camp Gladiator values the relationships with the neighbors, and will always take steps to preserve those relationships. SOUTHLAKE LOCATIONS: The location at St. Johns Church has been active since 2010. In 2016, workouts were held at PGA Superstore (Kimball Crossing), but ceased when Zen, another fitness company in the store front, opposed. Workouts were also held at Luke's Locker, but ended when that location closed at the end of last year. Workouts have been held at the White’s Chapel location since February 2017 and at the Hobby Lobby and The Hills Church locations since March 2017. SPECIFIC USE PERMIT REQUESTS: Once Camp Gladiator was informed their activity required specific use permit approval, applications were submitted to the Planning & Development Department at the City of Southlake for processing. The four proposed locations offer a total of 35 workouts during the week.
