SH114 This site plan shows the location of the existing monument sign on the site. 4 Monument Sign Approved for Red Lobster 12-3-2002 Monument Sign The existing monument sign for Red Lobster was approved by City Council with a variance to allow a 11’-6” monument sign height as sign is placed on a berm (permitted height allowed 6’-6”),allowing an additional attached sign due to frontage(one allowed per street frontage), allowing 36-inch “R”, “L”, “d’, and “b”; 30-inch “t”; remaining letters to be 24 7/8 inches (allowed 12 inches); and allowing 51.5 square foot sign area (16.5 square feet allowed). 5 Monument Sign Approved for Red Dog Right (SV10-026) Monument Sign City Council approved the sign variance for the monument sign for Red Dog Right stipulating the sign will have a 1 ½ inch black frame around the sign as indicated by the applicant; stipulating that the sign will be internally lit; requiring that seasonal color will be maintained year around as presented in the picture for the Red Lobster approval. 6 Proposed Monument Sign Two sided monument sign with 11’-8” x 5’-5” panels The masonry surround on the existing monument sign is 8” on both sides of the sign face; 5” above and below sign face; and has an approximate 6” gap between sign structure and berm. The berm is 5 -feet tall. No address numbers on the monument sign structure Mughlai Fine Indian Cuisine is seeking approval of a sign variance to allow an existing non-conforming, obsolete monument sign to be utilized as the restaurant monument sign. The Sign Ordinance defines an obsolete sign as any sign which for at least 6 continuous months does not identify or advertise a bona fide business, lessor, service, owner, product or activity on the premises on which the sign is located. Due to the length of time the property has been vacant, approval for the monument sign has expired. No other bona fide business occupied the premise until Mughlai Fine Indian Cuisine made application for re-occupancy on December 21, 2016 and was issued a re-occupancy permit on December 30, 2016. A Certificate of Occupancy is still pending. The applicant is requesting relief from the required 8-inch illuminated address numbers located in the top 20% the sign structure.
