Item 6B NarrativeNarrative Halff & Associates has prepared the Site Plan submittal for and on behalf of the City of Southlake Community Services Department. The plan involves the development of Royal & Annie Smith Park at 3045 Johnson Road which is zoned as a CS - Community Service District. This project is a Tier 1 priority as it relates to the vision, goals and objectives of the Southlake 2030 Master Plan. It is the intent of the City of Southlake to provide additional parking spaces. The proposed site plan also includes adding swings at the existing playground and providing pathways consistent with the park master plan at a later date as funds are available. Parking for the facility will be increased by seventeen spaces. Construction is expected to begin in 2017 and take approximately six months to complete. During construction operations existing parking will be minimally impacted. Most construction activities will be staged from the south of the parking lot to minimize impact to Johnson Road and the elementary school traffic.
