In previous years we've had a range of 600-1600 participants. Prov 31:9 Race2Rescue 2017 SUP Permit Request This SUP is being requested by Rescue Her. The purpose of this SUP is to host our 5" annual Race2Rescue 5k at Gateway Church Campus in Southlake. This will be our first year hosting the race at Gateway Church, and our second year to have the race in Southlake. Last year we had the race at Bicentennial Park, and love the support and involvement of the Southlake community. We are asking for approval of our Narrative, Site Map, and Route Map so that we can host Race2Rescue at Gateway Church in Southlake on April 22, 2017. Rescue Her is based in Grapevine and we work locally and internationally to fight child sexual exploitation and trafficking. Each year, our run is an opportunity for community members to unite and run for the freedom of others. This event provides a way for local businesses and community members to join in the fight against trafficking by supporting the race through sponsorships and/or participating on the day -of. Each year we are amazed by the various groups who want to get involved in this even and make a statement that they stand for freedom. All donations from sponsorships and funds raised from registrations with go towards our anti -trafficking efforts. We rely heavily on the funds raise from this event to support our yearly projects. We are requesting two road closures from 9 AM -10 AM on the morning of the race to give runners adequate space to participate. These road closures are preferred, but not necessary. If unable to be approved, runners can complete the race just by using sidewalks. No signs will be used on public property. Signage will only be used on Gateway property to direct runners where to park, sign -in, etc. We may be having a bounce house available for kids. This will be placed on Gateway property. We are also approaching the local Fire Department to see if a fire truck can be on display in the kids section on Gateway property as well. Please let us know if these two options are not approved and we will not move forward with securing them for the event.
