A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTHLAKE CITY CRIME CONTROL AND
PREVENTION DISTRICT, APPROVING THE TERMS AND
CONDITIONS OF A CONTRACT FOR ELECTION SERVICES
BETWEEN THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE AND THE SOUTHLAKE CRIME
CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT; AUTHORIZING THE
PRESIDENT TO EXECUTE THE CONTRACT; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Chapter 791 of the Texas Government Code (the "Interlocal
Cooperation Act") authorizes local governments, including special districts, to contract
with one another to increase their efficiency and effectiveness; and
WHEREAS, the Southlake Crime Control and Prevention District has been
presented with a proposed contract by and between the City of Southlake and the
Southlake Crime Control and Prevention District to provide election services for the May
6, 2017 special election on whether to continue the Crime Control and Prevention
District and the sales tax therefor, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and
incorporated herein by reference (hereinafter called the "Contract"); and
WHEREAS, upon full review and consideration of the Contract and all matters
attendant and related thereto, the Board of Directors of the Crime Control and
Prevention District (the "Board") is of the opinion that the Contract will increase the
efficiency and effectiveness of the parties to the Contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE SOUTHLAKE CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT, THAT:
SECTION 1.
The Board finds that the terms of the Contract will increase the efficiency and
effectiveness of the City of Southlake and the Southlake Crime Control and Prevention
District and otherwise meet the criteria of the Interlocal Cooperation Act, Section 791 of
the Texas Government Code.
SECTION 2.
The terms and conditions of the Contract, having been reviewed by the Board and
found to be acceptable and in the best interest of the District, the City and its citizens,
are hereby approved.
SECTION 3.
The President is hereby authorized to execute the Contract and all other documents in
connection therewith on behalf of the Southlake Crime Control and Prevention District
substantially according to the terms and conditions set forth in the Contract.
SECTION 4.
This Resolution shall become effective from and after its passage.
