The light rack is located at the same elevation as on the previous light pole. The extension containing the two Verizon antennas is approximately 20’ in height. The diameter of the existing light pole is 18 ½ inches. The diameter of the proposed monopole is approximately 44 inches at the base and gradually gets smaller to about 33 inches at the top. The ordinance allows for up to 48 inches in diameter for monopoles. 12 Option 2 135’ 93’ This slide shows option 2 showing the extension recommended by P&Z. The additional extension added 20’ in height and can accommodate two additional antennas by another carrier. The diameter of the existing light pole is 18 ½ inches. The diameter of the proposed monopole is approximately 44 inches at the base and gradually gets smaller to about 33 inches at the top. The ordinance allows for up to 48 inches in diameter for monopoles. 13 Variance – Landscape Variance to landscaping requirement under Zoning Ordinance No. 480, Section 45.7.d.8: The proposed tower facility is located on property that abuts residential property to the west and north. A landscape buffer of plant materials around the facility is required. Since the facility is approximately 400 feet from the nearest residential property line, the applicant is requesting relief from this requirement. There is a variance request to the landscape requirement as stated. 14 Variance – Co-location Variance to co-location requirement under Zoning Ordinance No. 480, Section 45.7.d.2.b: The proposed Option 1 tower facility does not allow for additional providers due to the limited space available on the pole which also serves as a sports field light standard. Replacing the lights on the monopole prohibits installation of any antennas below the light rack resulting in enough space for two Verizon antennas above the light rack. A telecommunication tower must be 1) used by two or more wireless telecommunications providers; or 2) designed and built so as to be capable of use by two or more wireless telecommunications providers and the owner of the antenna must certify to the City that the tower is available for use by another wireless telecommunications provider on a reasonable and non-discriminatory basis. 15 Variance – Height Variance to maximum height requirement under Zoning Ordinance No. 480, Section 45.7.d.6.b: The proposed Option 2 tower facility is approximately 135 feet in height. A freestanding tower, that can accommodate two users, shall not exceed 120 feet in height. If option 2 is approved, the resulting monopole will exceed the maximum allowed height of 120 feet for two carriers. Freestanding Towers For freestanding towers, structurally designed to accommodate shared users, the following height and usage criteria shall apply: for two users, up to one-hundred-twenty (120) feet in height; for three users, up to one-hundred-fifty (150) feet in height. 16 Site Photos View looking west towards Oak Bend Subdivision View looking south towards existing admin buildings View looking towards the northwest corner of the field and Quail Creek Estates The proposed compound is approximately 411 feet away from the Oak Bend subdivision boundary to the west; approximately 225 feet to the nearest admin building to the south; and, approximately 403 feet from Quail Creek Estates to the north 17 Questions? 18
