Item 6G Additional Plans August 19, 2016 TCD Texas Digestive Disease Consultants To Whom It May Concern: The new facility serving the Southlake community and surrounding areas will be our third endoscopy center, and will serve as the `premier' endoscopy procedural location once complete. Below is a brief synopsis of calculations for maintaining all 50 parking spaces shown on our revised plan, as substantiated by the other two facilities currently seeing patients: A total of 10 spaces are required per Operation Room/Procedure Room: a) 5 patient vehicles based upon the following distribution: 0 1 patient in lobby 0 1 patient in pre-op area 0 1 patient in procedure room/OR 0 2 patients in the PACU b) 5 staff vehicles based upon the following distribution: 0 1 staff member to remain in the procedural/OR room with the patient 0 2 nurses/medical staff assisting physician 0 1 administrative staff member 0 1 physician *** After being anesthetized and undergoing a significant medical procedure, patients are unable to drive themselves home and often leave vehicles at the facility overnight while a friend or family member picks them up. This excess of vehicles more than offsets the few parking spaces that are conserved by some physicians parking across the street. Furthermore, removing spaces to maintain the existing trees in the proposed area will significantly limit patient access to parking within close proximity of the entrance, which is a major issue for transporting patients that have just undergone outpatient surgery.
