Item 10 - ZA15-148 SUP NarrativeZONE SYSTEMS, INC. June, 2016 City of Southlake Planning and Development Services 1400 Main Street, Suite 310 Southlake, TX 76092 "i 2 ~ 2016 Re: ZA15-148 Dear Planning Staff: Verizon Wireless proposes to construct an antenna facility that will improve cellular service to Verizon Wireless system users on Carroll Avenue. The demand for telecommunication services from mobile telephone users is constantly increasing. The community through use of mobile devices is requesting improved service in order to make their telecommunications use easy and efficient. The community also wishes that the improved service is one that does not appear to be obvious. In order to improve service and help to lessen the antennas' appearance Verizon Wireless attempts to use existing structures or to alter existing structures in a minimal way to add antennas to the area. This request by replacing an existing light structure at a Carroll School District sports field will provide improved service while minimizing the visual impact of the antennas. Verizon Wireless has operated a cellular telephone system serving the Southlake community for many years. The city depends on a reliable system. The system is constantly monitored and improved when necessary. Attached to this request are propagation maps that show the technical improved coverage that this facility will provide. System users in this general area will have improved service through faster connections, downloads of data and signal strength for their devices. We are requesting a variance to the landscape regulations as this site is adjacent to the bleachers at the football stadium. The site is not visible from any street and is separated from homes to the west by another football field. We will have an eight -foot masonry wall around the equipment. Thank you for the opportunity to work with your city to improve Verizon Wireless service. Sincerely, l Peter Kavanagh 1620 HANDLEY DRIVE, SUITE A • DALLAS, TEXAS 75208 • (214) 941-4440 • PETER KOZON ESYSTEM S.COM Z,* /S- /'!s
