FORUM SUMMARY:
Property Situation:
Citywide
Development Details:
Since adoption of Sign Ordinance No. 704-H in September 2015, have seen
modern changes in signage and window displays, reoccurring instances of
signage violations, and a need to clarify and add to definitions section
Have added definitions and image examples to the definitions section
The proposed amendment lists prohibited signs and brief descriptions of those
sign types
Existing commercial building for lease/sale signs are being proposed under two
options: 1) to completely prohibit or 2) further regulate
Graffiti is already prohibited by ordinance - the amendment is stating that the
owner of the property has 72 hours to remove graffiti should it occur on their
property
The proposed amendment contains the addition of a definition for lifestyle images
Have added a new regulation for service entry door signs
Added regulations for sale/lease signs regarding removal if 100% occupancy
occurs before 1 year time period
Added regulations pertaining to attached signage
Previously did not have maximum width for monument signs — this ordinance
amendment proposes a new regulation
Proposing new Master Sign Plan design guidelines
Staff has added clarification to the appendix stating that sign posts and frames
are to be made of metal material
