FORUM SUMMARY:
Property Situation:
450 W. Southlake Blvd.
Development Details:
• Barker Rinker Seacat is the architect
• Plan is to replace current building for the Southlake Tennis Center in Bicentennial
Park
• Future Land Use is Public Parks / Open Space and Zoning is Community
Services District
• City Council prioritized this facility in Southlake 2030 — Southlake Tennis Center
is one component of Phase III of Bicentennial Park
• Will have very high level of landscaping — similar plans to what is in Bicentennial
Park and throughout the City park system
• Doing best to preserve as many trees as possible — proposing to remove some of
the trees but replacing what is being removed. Some are dead and need
replaced. Will be adding some additional trees
• Not proposing any changes to parking, any of the traffic plan or any of the courts.
Focusing on the building itself
• The back of the building will have a patio area
• The north of the building will have the staff offices and a staff entrance
• The south of the building is where the trash will be hidden, and where golf carts
will be located
• Fencing around the facility will be consistent with what has been done in the new
phases of Bicentennial Park
• Proposing to add shade structures near courts — hip structure with metal roof
• Existing tennis center is approximately 4,000 square feet and the proposed
expansion would take the center to 8,400 square feet including the back patio
area
• Proposing to demolish existing restrooms near the hockey courts and replace as
part of the facility
• Anticipated ground breaking early 2017
• Anticipate late 2017 grand opening
