3k Librarian's Report
Library Statistics
City Librarian Pfledderer said that the February statistics were up 7% since last
February and it was the first month where auto-renewals were not a factor.
There is an increase in most of the collections and other Library services were
also up statistically.
4. DISCUSSION
4A. Small Business Programs
City Librarian Pfledderer said that Librarian Maria Cameron was instrumental in
the SCORE programs and introduced her. Librarian Cameron said the SCORE
program was very successful and had a great turnout. She said that the gist of
the feedback received was that residents were primarily interested in social
media and developing a website presence. City Librarian Pfledderer said that
SCORE is going to meet with our Economic Development department and see
how the City can help with continuing the program. Librarian Cameron explained
how the Library's A to Z database is useful and what information is available on
this database to patrons.
4B. Annual Library Report and Accreditation Application
City Librarian Pfledderer said the Board has a copy of the Annual Report in their
packet. She noted that the first section is Library information which is auto-filled
and just general information. She said that in the expenditures section of the
report they want to know how much the City has spent and how much the City is
investing. She pulls the figures from our financial system database (MUNIS) and
the report covers various expenditures that the Library has spent last fiscal year.
She noted they also want to know how much of that is from local operating
expenses. This includes City funding and local monies that we receive from
grants or local organization donations. She reviewed some of the answers
provided and how she derived the statistics including hours, staffing, computer
use, etc. She has submitted the report and doesn't expect any issues.
4C. Charlaine Harris Event
City Librarian Pfledderer said Evening with the Author Charlaine Harris event is
