Item 4F Approve Policy for the Provision of Athletic Facilities Item 4F 1 City Council approval of the proposed Policy for the Provision of Athletic Facilities Requested Action Staff is seeking City Council’s approval of the proposed Policy for the Provision of Athletic Facilities that will provide a guide to management and use of City-owned athletic facilities, excluding those at The Marq Southlake and the Southlake Tennis Center.   2 Ensure the most appropriate allocation of City owned athletic facility assets Guide management & use of City athletic facilities (excluding The Marq and STC) Purpose 3 Goal: Provide outstanding athletic fields, which meet the Southlake standard Prioritizes the use of City owned athletic facilities Identifies how practice hours are allocated Identifies communication enhancements Overview INSERT SLIDES 4 Clarifies requirements for submitting Season schedules Payment and rosters Clarifies field care and field closures Clarifies how tournaments are authorized Serves as an exhibit within all future FUA’s Overview 5 Citizen / Board Input The Policy for Provisions of Athletic Field Spaces document has been developed with input from meetings with the mayor's Athletic Task Force and representatives from participating athletic associations. The proposed Policy was discussed and recommended by the Athletic Task Force at a meeting held June 1, 2016.
