Item 4FCity of Southlake Sign Board Item 4F 1 Sign Board Established January 20, 2015 with the adoption of Ordinance No. 1110 Planning & Zoning Commission assumed role To date, processed eighteen (18) sign variances, four (4) master sign plans/amendments and one (1) sign ordinance amendment Ordinance No. 1110 requires reauthorization Proposed adoption of Ordinance No. 1110-A; Sign Board shall continue to exist until dissolved by the City Council That Section 15.5-1.(g), Article I. – In General, Chapter 15.5 – Signs, Subpart A – General Ordinances, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Southlake, Texas, is hereby amended to read as follows: (g) Dissolution. The Sign Board shall continue to exist until dissolved or abolished by ordinance by the affirmative vote of the City Council. The advantages and disadvantages of a sign board were discussed by the City Council and it was determined that the creation of a sign board was preferred. It was also determined that the PZ Commission was the appropriate body to take on the role of the sign board since it was an existing board, that met on a regular basis and was familiar with development related issues. 2 Questions? 3
