Item 4L CITY OF SOUTHLAKE Department of Planning & Development Services STAFF REPORT May 31, 2016 CASE NO: SV16-006 PROJECT: Sign Variance for Thailicious EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Thailicious Southlake is requesting a variance to the Southlake Town Square Block 10 sign regulations to allow a roof sign that exceeds maximum allowed sign area. The property is located in Southlake Town Square at 355 N. Carroll Avenue, Southlake, Texas. REQUEST DETAILS: Thailicious is requesting a variance from the Southlake Town Square Block 10 sign regulations to allow a roof sign that exceeds the maximum allowed area of thirty (30) square feet. More specifically, the applicant is requesting to re-use the roof structure that was previously used by Daddy Jack's Lobster & Chowder House. Daddy Jack's received a variance approval for a total sign area of approximately sixty (60) square feet in October of 2012. On May 5, 2016, due to the applicant needing to leave the meeting, the Sign Board tabled this item to their next regularly scheduled meeting on May 19, 2016. On May 19, 2016, the Planning & Zoning Commission unanimously recommended approval subject to the staff report.
