FORUM SUMMARY:
Property Situation:
Highway 26 and Mustang
Development Details:
Proposed 3-story self-storage facility on 3.1 acres at the cornerof Mustang Drive
and Southwestern Street
Applicant mentioned that Public Storage was founded in 1972 and is a Fortune
500 Corporation. They develop, operate and own
Applicant mentioned that all facilities have on-site managers
Applicant mentioned thatthe proposed siteis a mostly industrial corridor with
tank farms, a batching plant and a rail linenear the site. Site was picked because
it has fairly good visibility but is in an area not suited for office and retail
The applicant mentioned the site fronts on Southwestern Street to the north,
which they are proposing to landscape per City standards, and are proposing
additional trees to exceed the minimum City standards
The applicant explained that the proposal would be a three-story climate-
controlled building, and all are accessed from an internal corridor -there is no
drive-up. You have to park in a storage loading area and take materialsinsideto
the unit
The applicant mentioned the climate controlled buildings look more like an office
–not a warehouse. Articulating the building, providing masonry that provides
some breakup in the façade

QUESTIONS / CONCERNS:
The entrance for customers to come in would be from Southwestern, so they
would come in Mustang? There is no access from 26?
That is correct. Railroad track intervenes between the highway and the
o
site. There would be direct access off Mustang –there would also be an
access point off Southwestern, so there are two
