The specific corporate objective that is met by the agreement is: Enhance resident quality of life and business sustainability through Tourism. 2 Approved by City Council on October 21, 2008 Established criteria to evaluate applications for City participation in community events $23,000 was budgeted Community Event Participation Policy 3 Application is from the Crossman World Class Drum Corps Sunday, June 19, 2016- 6:00p- 9:00p Showcase in the Square 2016 A Drum and Bugle Corps Event will be held Father’s Day, Sunday, June 19th, 2016 from 6:00PM-9:00PM. The exact location will be at the gazebo in Town Square Park (Rustin Park). Invited and participating Drum & Bugle Corps from throughout Texas will perform their repertoire in front of the gazebo. Due to the performance featuring the top Drum Corps International champions in the State of Texas, the estimated attendance of this event is approximately 2,000. The target audience will be music students and family members from throughout the North Tarrant County area with a specific focus on Middle and High School musicians from 20 identified public and private school districts. 4 City incurred costs estimated at $1,328.48 50/50 split $664.24 Responsibility for damage Showcase in the Square 2016 The Crossman World Class Drum Corps will be required to provide a 50/50 match of contributions by the City. Request will be based on actual costs incurred, not to exceed $664.24 which is 50% of the estimated cost of $1,328.48 Applicant will be responsible for incurring the cost for damage to any equipment should it occur during their use as well as all other cost related to the event. 5 Staff recommends approval of the Participation Agreement with the Crossman World Class Drum Corps for the 2016 Showcase in the Square event, not to exceed $664.24 which is 50% of the estimated City incurred costs of $1,328.48.
