Subject: Approve Change Order No. 7 with Wilson Contractor Services,
LLC for the Water and Sanitary Sewer Relocation Project for
FM 1938 in the amount not to exceed $48,850
Action
Requested: Approve Change Order No. 7 with Wilson Contractor Services, LLC
for the Water and Sanitary Sewer Relocation Project for FM 1938 in
the amount not to exceed $48,850 for fire hydrant adjustments.
Background
Information: Change Order No. 7 in the amount of $48,850 is for fire hydrant
adjustments along the FM 1938 corridor. These fire hydrants were
placed during the summer of 2014 by Wilson Contractor Services,
LLC (WCC) to existing roadway elevations. These fire hydrants will
have to be adjusted to the finished grade of the newly constructed
roadway of FM 1938. There are 12 fire hydrants that will need to
be adjusted. Along the southeast corner of the Southlake
Boulevard/Davis Boulevard intersection, WCC will relocate 3 fire
hydrants that are currently located within the construction limits of
the FM 1938 Phase II Widening project.
The FM 1938 Phase II Roadway Expansion Project from FM 1709
to the Randol Mill Bend requires relocation of water and sanitary
sewer. The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) requires
public infrastructure owned by the cities be relocated from
underneath the proposed FM 1938 pavement to the parkways.
City Council awarded the construction contract to Wilson Contractor
Services, LLC on August 20, 2013 in the amount of $1,845,378.
Six (6) previous change orders have been approved which
increased the contract amount to $2,257,005. The water and
sanitary sewer relocation project was completed in December 2014
under budget. The remaining segment of water line within the city
of Keller will be completed by Wilson Contractor Services, LLC in
conjunction with TxDOT during the construction of the roadway.
