The floor plan shows the existing signs on the west elevation along North Carroll Avenue and the east elevation on the interior of the shopping center. The proposed new service entrance
sign is located north of the existing internal sign. The applicant states this request is due to bicycles coming into the store for service that may be wet or dirty. The service entrance
is set up to relieve the slip hazard from the main entrance and for customer safety.

Proposed Sign Details
The total allowable sign area on the east elevation is 66.5 square feet. The existing sign is 55.6 square feet. The proposed sign is 9.36 square feet (14-inches by 8 feet) with 14-inch
letters. Both signs will total 64.96 square feet.

Summary of Requested Sign
There are two variances requested for the proposed sign; the total number of attached signs on a lease space and the number of signs on a single facade or lease space.
The total number
of attached signs allowed is one attached sign per tenant’s lease space façade for a maximum of 2 signs per tenant/lease space. The applicant is proposing one additional attached sign
for a maximum of 3 signs per tenant/lease space.
The total number of signs on a single façade or lease space is limited to only one attached sign per street front or drive for the
lease space. The applicant is requesting a total of 2 signs on the east elevation.
