She gave kudos to staff and the youth librarian for the exceptional programming they do for the City. Operations Manager Jen Tucker discussed the transition from OCLC to a statewide interlibrary loan program called Texas Navigator and how it benefits the patrons including quicker fill times and meeting the demands for the most popular materials. 4. DISCUSSION 4A. Southlake Sister Cities Programs City Librarian Pfledderer said the Library works every year with Southlake Sister Cities, which promotes international diplomacy, relationship building, and education in the community. There are two relationships that the City of Southlake has with Suzhou, China and Tome, Japan. She said there is a group of youth ambassadors going to China from March 10-19 and there is always a City chaperone that goes along as well. She noted that she would be going this year with 3 CISD students and Jeff Wang. In June, a group of youth ambassadors will be going to Tome, and in July we will host a large delegation and will celebrate the 10-year relationship we have with them. In February, the Library had two special programs that went very well including Chinese New Year Story Time with over 100 attendees and also a hosted Chinese lecture that was very educational and had approximately 50-60 participants. 4B. CISD Art Exhibits City Librarian Pfledderer said another partnership is with CISD. An upcoming program we are working with them on is displaying their art exhibits in the Town Hall lobby. She said the City is now working and supporting the Library and this program and it will be in conjunction with Art in the Square the weekend of April 22.
