The proposed outdoor seating area includes exposed columns which are consistent with Starbucks design standards and are not shown to be clad in masonry. The applicant has stated that the columns are part of the walk-way cover system and are a major element and part of the industrial design intent of the project. The exposed columns are an architecturally significant part of Starbucks core building design. Leaving the columns exposed allows for a more sleek, open-feeling, modern look. The building facades are 100% masonry on all sides. The columns are part of the walkway cover.
