DISCUSSION 4A. Annual Work Plan City Librarian Pfledderer reviewed the Library's work plan which includes major initiatives for the year. There are two new programs that are grant funded by the Texas State Library including Southlake Special Delivery. Originally we wanted to work with Baylor Labor and Delivery, but now we will be working with Cook's Children's Primary Care. She said this initiative is two-fold to encourage family literacy, and empower parents with the knowledge needed to have a successful reading experience with their child. The program will start in January and continue through August, when the grant ends. Another grant that was received for $7,100 is SCORE which is a series of small business workshops that helps businesses grow. At this time four workshops will be offered. She discussed the Library's Feasibility study and where we are with that. Deputy Director Edmondson said the study will help determine what the citizen's want with respect to the Library location, elements and programs. City Librarian Pfledderer discussed the website redesign which is another effort that is in process and the launch for the new website should be in March 2016. She said the design is similar to the design of The Marq Southlake. Librarian Tucker said that the Library is transitioning the Interlibrary loan (ILL) platform to Texas Navigator. It should be seamless to the users and there will also be some cost savings, which we have to apply for. City Librarian Pfledderer discussed the various partnerships the Library has and the new foreign languages software called Mango languages, which is now available. She also said the youth program has been revamped. Librarian Tucker said she would like feedback from the Board in the future for adult engagement programs. She said the goal is to bring the fun to adult engagement. Board member Dhanani suggested that e-blasts or website communication of curated lists should be specific for individual needs.
