SUP Details
96’ x 200’ arena
Maximum number of horses to be boarded is eight (8)
Maximum number of riders in the arena at one time is six (6)
Maximum number of cars on the property at one time
is eight (8). Ten (10) parking stalls are provided.
Hours of operation are dawn to dusk.
The SUP is requested to run through the end of 2023.
The SUP request details are provided on attachment C, p. 1 of the staff report. According the information submitted Lodestar LLC is a private hunter/jumper horse barn. The riders participate
in the Dallas Hunter Jumper Scholarship Circuit. Riding lessons are provided three days a week and riders are able to ride at leisure on non lessson days.
The applicant’s initial
SUP request (Nov. 19th P&Z) included:
Allow a lighted riding arena.
Installation of three (3) proposed arena lights.
Hours of operation from 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday
and 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Maximum of 10 horses.
Variance to Lighting Ordinance No. 693 to allow three (3) 1000 watt high pressure sodium bulbs in unshielded fixtures
on 25’ poles to be directed at the arena from the east side facing west.
When the application went on January 7th the SUP were modified.
Maximum of 8 horses with a 6 riders in the
arena at one time.
Maximum of 8 cars on the property at one time with 10 parking spaces provided.
Hours of operation are dawn to dusk.
The SUP is requested to run through the end of
2023, when the girls graduate high school.

This exhibit indicates 10 parking spaces will be provided. The materials used for the parking stall will be a combination of concrete, asphalt and flex base.
