Overview
Need existed for updating of existing dash cam system and implementation of body worn cameras
WatchGuard presented a way to integrate both camera types in a high quality system
$194,988
in funding from CCPD for FY16
We have the opportunity to think strategically about our department’s use of cameras in order to better plan for the future
L3 dash cams lack quality, are not user friendly, are difficult
to search, and often take days to download
3
Dash Cameras
WatchGuard has 25% of police dash cams in the country
720p HD
Video buffered and stored for days
Mic has 2 miles of range
User friendly
Replaced 26 dash cams
Watch Guard has 25% of the police dash cams in the country
Group examined Hurst’s system and was impressed
Video is buffered for days, so that we can grab video later that wasn’t purposefully
recorded at the time
Video from this system integrates with Watch Guard’s body cams, giving us two or more views of the same incident
Quote includes removal of L3 and installation of
Watch Guard’s units in 21 marked units and 5 motorcycles
It also includes data collection points, unlimited wireless transfer, 3 sets of dual wireless mics, and 16 terabytes of storage
(in addition to what we already have).
