The specific corporate objectives that are met by this are achieving the highest standard of safety and security, and optimizing the use of technology. 2 Overview Need existed for updating of existing dash cam system and implementation of body worn cameras WatchGuard presented a way to integrate both camera types in a high quality system $194,988 in funding from CCPD for FY16 We have the opportunity to think strategically about our department’s use of cameras in order to better plan for the future L3 dash cams lack quality, are not user friendly, are difficult to search, and often take days to download 3 Dash Cameras WatchGuard has 25% of police dash cams in the country 720p HD Video buffered and stored for days Mic has 2 miles of range User friendly Replaced 26 dash cams Watch Guard has 25% of the police dash cams in the country Group examined Hurst’s system and was impressed Video is buffered for days, so that we can grab video later that wasn’t purposefully recorded at the time Video from this system integrates with Watch Guard’s body cams, giving us two or more views of the same incident Quote includes removal of L3 and installation of Watch Guard’s units in 21 marked units and 5 motorcycles It also includes data collection points, unlimited wireless transfer, 3 sets of dual wireless mics, and 16 terabytes of storage (in addition to what we already have). 4 Body Worn Cameras Rugged and weatherproof Integrates with dash cams 9 hrs continuous HD recording All sworn officers are trained in practice and policy 20 body cams purchased and will be upgraded late spring In use since January 6, 2016 Began testing in late 2014 Several models and companies were deployed, and officer feedback was gathered This model offers different mounting options and an adjustable lens Watch Guard was selected due to superior features and back end integration with dash cams 5 Chief James Brandon 817-748-8133 6
