Item 4H is the renewal of a Facilities Utilization Agreement with the Southlake Baseball Association.

Requested Action
The purpose of this item is to seek City Council’s approval of a two-year Facilities Utilization Agreements (FUA) with Southlake Baseball Association.

Background Information
The City coordinates to provide youth athletic leagues for residents with six Southlake youth athletic associations

Separate agreement with
each association
FUAs revised to update and clarify provisions
The City coordinates with various youth athletic associations to offer a variety of youth athletic leagues through an arrangement referred to as a facilities utilization agreement (FUA).
Separate agreements are held with each association participating in the use of City-owned fields and facilities.
Revisions have been made to the proposed FUA to clarify and update the
language to reflect current practice.

Southlake Baseball AssociationFUA TERM
Jan 1, 2016 – Dec 31, 2017
The proposed FUA with Southlake Baseball Association will provide athletic fields for the youth athletic program for 2016 and 2017. The current FUA will expire December 31, 2015.

Financial Considerations
SBA will pay field maintenance fees to assist the City with offsetting a portion of the maintenance and operations costs. At a November 15, 2010 FUA Work Shop, the fees were established
by representatives from each of the associations.
Southlake Resident - $12 per player, per season AND Non-Resident - $17 per player, per season

recommends approval of the proposed Facilities Utilization Agreement with Southlake Baseball Association for 2016-17 and asks for City Council’s consideration at this time.
