Good evening Honorable Mayor and members of the City Council. This is Cristina McMurray, Deputy Director for Public Works, and I will be presenting Item 4C, to authorize expenditures
with Brandt Engineering in an amount not to exceed $140,000 for your consideration.

Requested Action
Authorize expenditures with Brandt Engineering, in an amount not to exceed $140,000 for electrical projects including the finish out of the DPS North IT Disaster Recovery Data Center
Staff recommends that City Council authorize expenses with Brandt Engineering for electrical projects including the finish out of the DPS North IT Disaster Recovery Data Center in an
amount not to exceed $140,000.

House and Operate a redundant computer server room in event of an emergency.
175KW generator is adequate to support Main Building, but not including IT Disaster Recovery Data Center.
IT Disaster Recovery Data Center
The facilities project involves the finish out of an existing space at DPS North to serve as an IT Disaster Recovery Data Center. The IT Department operates the City’s computer servers
on the first floor of Town Hall and in the DPS Headquarters. IT needs the Disaster Recovery Data Center at DPS North in order to house and operate a redundant computer server room in
the event of an emergency. The 175KW generator for DPS North that serves as the backup generator for the main building including the fire station, living quarters, training and meeting
rooms, and the gun range is at full capacity per the MEP firm, Telios who were the original consultants on the DPS North building.

Funding available in Strategic Initiative Funds FY16
Electrical work that includes installing:
electrical panels.
60KW emergency backup generator
IT Disaster Recovery Data Center
As part of the FY16 budget, City Council authorized funds in the Strategic Initiative account for the electrical work that is needed for this project including the installation of dedicated
electrical panels and a dedicated 60kw emergency backup generator for the IT Disaster Recovery Data Center.
