Good evening Mayor and members of the City Council. This is Cassie Tucker and I am presenting Item 4F which is the consideration of an extension to the current displayed art exhibit
in Town Hall lobby.

Requested Action
City Council approval to extend the Historical Art Exhibit in the Town Hall lobby until
September 30, 2016.
The purpose of Item 4F is to seek City Council approval to extend the Historical Art Exhibit until September 30th, 2016.

Background – Historical Art Exhibit
On June 16, 2015 City Council approved a permit from Southlake Arts Council and the Southlake Historical Society to allow the art gallery exhibit, “A Walk Through Time: Historical Photographs
of Southlake” to be displayed in the Town Hall lobby area September 10, 2015 – October 23, 2015.
The art exhibit promotes the City of Southlake’s rich history and culture. Due to the
public’s response and popularity of the exhibit, an extension until September 30th, 2016 is requested for the exhibit.

Managed and maintained by staff liaison to Arts Council
Exhibit may be temporarily removed for other exhibits
Extension complies with Public Art Policy
The exhibit will be managed and maintained by the City of Southlake staff liaison to the Southlake Arts Council. For the extended exhibit, the artwork may be temporarily taken down and
stored, allowing for temporary exhibits. Following the end of temporary exhibits, the extended exhibit will be restored.
An extension of the exhibit complies with provisions of the
Public Art Display and Performance Policy that allows City Council to approve an extension.

Financial Considerations
There is no additional cost to the City for the extended art exhibit.
