Good evening Mayor and members of the City Council, Item 4H is for the artist contract for public art for the City’s 5th roundabout at the intersection of Dove Road and Peytonville Ave/Sam
School Road.

Requested Action
At your meeting on August 18, City Council accepted the recommendation by the Southlake Arts Council and selected the sculpture “Flying Together” by artist Dream Big Sculptures as the
public art piece for the roundabout at the intersection of Dove Road and Peytonville Avenue/Sam School Road.
With this item, we are seeking City Council approval of the artist contract
with Dream Big Sculptures for the sculpture in the amount of $______________.

Background
As recommended in the Public Art Master Plan, public art has been acquired and installed in the roundabouts at White Chapel & Continental, White Chapel & Dove, Carroll & Dove and Brumlow
& Continental.

“Flying Together”
To move forward with acquisition of the approved public art sculpture “Flying Together” for the 5th roundabout, City Council approval of the artist contract is presented at this time.

Artist Contract with Dream Big Sculptures

Includes casting sculpture, delivery and artist consultation for installation
Standard Artist Contract used in City’s previous art
acquisitions.
Artist contract
The proposed contract is the standard Artists Agreement utilized by the City on previous public art sculpture contracts, including the artist contracts for sculptures at DPS North, DPS
Headquarters and the other City roundabouts.
Included in the cost of $________ is the casting of the sculpture, delivery and installation.
A copy of the proposed contract was included
in the packet memo.

Funding in the amount of $90,000 included in project budget
Financial consideration
Funding in the amount of $90,000 has been included in the project budget for the design and installation of public art in the roundabout as recommended in the 2030 Public Art Master
Plan and Public Art Policy.
