Item 4D Department of Planning & Development Services S T A F F R E P O R T August 25, 2015 CASE NO:SV15-005 PROJECT:Sign Variance for Empire Rugs EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Wraymon Eric Hill on behalf of Ben Shabahang of Empire Rugs is requesting approval of a variance to the Sign Ordinance No. 704, as amended, to allow construction of a new monument sign in the same location of the business’ existing non-conforming sign located at 1695 E. Southlake Boulevard, Southlake, Texas. DETAILS: The applicant proposes to use the exact same monument sign base in the same non-conforming location as it exists today. The sign face and materials will be modified as shown in the proposed rendering to conform with current sign regulations with exception to the setback requirements. All other components of the proposed sign meet the criteria of Sign Ordinance 704-G. The details of the variance are as follows: Permitted in Sign Ord.
