Item 4C 4C - 1 M E M O R A N D U M August 10, 2015 To: Shana Yelverton, City Manager From: Candice Edmondson, Deputy Director of Community Services Subject: Approve contract with Texas Interior Resources, LLC dba Interior Resources for furniture for Phase 1 of The Marq Southlake Action Requested: City Councilapproval of a contract with Texas Interior Resources, LLC dba Interior Resources for furniture for Phase 1 of The Marq Southlake in an amount not to exceed $360,000. Background Information: Phase 1 of The Marq Southlake is currently under construction with an anticipated opening in December 2015. Staff has been working with the architect, Baker Rinker Seacat, and interior design firm, Gallun Snow, on the selection of furniture for the facility. Many factors were considered during the selection of furniture including aesthetic quality, durability, intended use and compatibility with interior furnishings. Staff also considered feedback received from the Senior Advisory Commission when selecting furniture pieces for the new Senior Center. In June, staff released a request for bid for furniture at The Marq Southlake. Five companies responded to the bid, with Interior Resources being the recommended vendor based on their ability to provide the furniture items listed in the bid package and proposed price. Interior Resources is a full service office furniture dealership located in the Dallas Design District. Each member of the project team has over 17 years of experience in the industry providing furniture delivery and installation services. Interior Resources represents over 200 manufacturers of office furniture and is a certified vendor with the City of Southlake. Financial Considerations: Funding in the amount of $400,000 has been allocated in the project budget for the purchase of furniture, fixtures and equipment at Phase 1 of The Marq Southlake.
