The applicant is the Walk for PKD – North Texas Chapter
The request is approval of a five (5 year) specific use permit to allow a mass gathering on property being described as Southlake
Town Square Phase I and Phase IV,
This event has been held annually since 2004. The event has grown to the point of requiring a specific use permit due to the event anticipated to
grow greater than 1,000 people attending the event, to permit possible placement of a sponsor vehicle; and allow off-site signage to promote the event.
The applicant is requesting
a 5-year approval to hold the event annually in mid to late September. This year’s event is scheduled for September 19, 2015.

19, 2015 from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m.;

- 5K Run, a Children’s Walk and the Walk for PKD;
- Sponsor booths;
- Possible sponsor automobile on Fountain Place;
- Children’s activities;
- Pancake breakfast;
- Registration area;
- Baylor van;
- Fire truck; and, volunteer station.

Event Signage
The applicant is also requesting the placement of 5 yard signs and one banner sign in Town Square. The Sign Ordinance in section 6.1 – Table 3 – currently allows for events sponsered
by non-profit and civic organizations to 5 off-site signs and one on site sign 32’ per sign face. The map on the slide indicates the location of the off-site signs and the one on-site
sign.
