Item 4C Approve contract with Texas Interior Resources, LLC dba Interior Resources for furniture at The Marq Southlake Item 4C Good evening Mayor and members of the City Council. This is item 4C which is a proposed contract with Texas Interior Resources, LLC dba Interior Resources for furniture at Phase 1 of The Marq Southlake. 1 City Council approval of a contract with Texas Interior Resources, LLC dba Interior Resources for furniture for Phase 1 of The Marq Southlake in an amount not to exceed $360,000 Requested Action As you know, construction on Phase 1 of The Marq Southlake is currently underway. With this item, we are seeking City Council approval of a contract with Interior Resources to provide furniture at Phase 1 of The Marq in an amount not to exceed $360,000. 2 Background The Marq Southlake Phase 1 scheduled to open in December 2015 Staff working with Barker Rinker Seacat & Gallun Snow on selection of furniture Selection criteria included: Aesthetic quality Durability Intended use Compatibility with interior furnishings Phase 1 of The Marq Southlake is expected to open in December 2015. In anticipation of the opening, staff has been working with the architect, Baker Rinker Seacat, and interior design firm, Gallun Snow, on the selection of furniture for the facility. Many factors were considered during the selection of furniture including aesthetic quality, durability, intended use and compatibility with interior furnishings. Staff also considered feedback received from the Senior Advisory Commission when selecting furniture pieces for the new Senior Center. 3 Background Request for Bid released in June Five responses received Interior Resources recommended vendor based on ability to provide requested furniture items and proposed price In June, staff released a request for bid for furniture at The Marq Southlake. Five companies responded to the bid, with Interior Resources being the recommended vendor based on their ability to provide the furniture items listed in the bid package and proposed price. 4 Interior Resources Full service office furniture dealership Experienced project team Certified vendor with City of Southlake Represents over 200 manufactures Interior Resources is a full service office furniture dealership located in the Dallas Design District. Each member of the project team has over 17 years of experience in the industry providing furniture delivery and installation services. Interior Resources represents over 200 manufacturers of office furniture and is a certified vendor with the City of Southlake. 5 Financial Considerations Funding in the amount of $400,000 was allocated in project budget for FFE Funding in the amount of $400,000 was previously allocated in the project budget for the purchase of furniture, fixtures and equipment at Phase 1 of The Marq Southlake. 6 City of Southlake Strategy Map Critical Business Outcomes CBO1 - Continue to implement Southlake 2030 Plan by focusing on short-term initiatives.
