CALL TO ORDER Chairman Bartlett called the meeting of the Southlake Arts Council to order at 6:08 p.m. 2. CONSENT AGENDA Consent Agenda items are considered to be routine by the Southlake Arts Council and are enacted with one motion. 2A. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES FROM THE MAY 26, 2015 SOUTHLAKE ARTS COUNCIL MEETING Item 3C of the May 26, 2015 meeting minutes were corrected to show Miriam Murray seconded the motion. APPROVED A motion was made to approve the minutes as corrected. CONSIDER 3A. RECOMMENDATION ON FINAL CONCEPTS AND SELECTION OF PUBLIC ART FOR THE MARQ SOUTHLAKE Assistant to the Director Cassie Tucker presented the revised final concepts from Dream Big Sculpture ("Celebrate") and Kathleen Caricof ("Texas Sky — Constellation") as potential public art pieces for The Marq Southlake. The Arts Council discussed the concepts for The Marq and recommended Kathleen Caricof's 3rd representation, "Southlake Constellation," with the varied base heights, for the art piece. APPROVED A motion was made to accept as the final concept plan for The Marq representation #3 of Kathleen Caricof's design, "Southlake Constellation." Motion: McMillan Second: Murray Ayes: Bartlett, Cook, Ingraham, Messing, McMillan and Murray Nays: None Abstain: None Vote: 6-0 Motion Carried. 3B. RECOMMENDATION OF PROPOSED FY 2016 PUBLIC ART FUND BUDGET Deputy Director Candice Edmondson presented the proposed FY 2016 Public Art Fund Budget for Southlake Arts Council consideration and responded to questions. The Arts Council reviewed proposed budget line item allocations. APPROVED A motion was made to recommend approval of the proposed FY 2016 Public Art Fund Budget. DISCUSSION 4A. FUTURE PUBLIC ART OPPORTUNITIES The Arts Council discussed opportunities for public art including a fall Town Hall Art Exhibit, an Arts Council/Apex Event at The Marq, potential juried art exhibit and an Arts Council and Apex sponsored film festival. • Logistics, food and decorations for the Town Hall Historical Southlake Art Exhibit and Reception (Sept. 10 -Oct. 23, 2015) to be discussed at August 4th meeting. • Sponsors for the Arts Council/Apex Event at The Marq (January 23, 2016, 4:00-6:30 pm) are needed. • Juried Art Exhibit will be removed from Arts Council agenda until February 2016. • Arts Council and Apex sponsored film festival (May 7, 2016) — The event will include independent, short and kids films as well as a symposium. Ten volunteers are needed to preview films. Volunteers should contact Terri Messing. Terri Messing reported that the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra would consider a concert outside at the Aria Amphitheater in June 2016. This event will be added to the Arts Council agenda for discussion in January 2016. 5. PUBLIC FORUM No one was present to address the Arts Council during Public Forum. The Arts Council agreed to meet on August 4th at 6:30 p.m. 6.
