Approve an agreement for the continuation of the School Resource Officer Program between the City of Southlake and Carroll Independent School District
Staff recommends that the City Council approve an agreement for the continuation of the School Resource Officer Program between the City of Southlake and the Carroll Independent School
District.

The City of Southlake’s School Resource Officer Program consists of 11 sworn Southlake Police Officers that are assigned to every CISD campus. The program is supervised by a Southlake
Police Department Sergeant.

Goals of SRO Program
The goals of the SRO program are to enhance security and safety on all CISD campuses, reduce community fear as it relates to school violence, and to provide a positive law enforcement
influence in the lives of our children and students.

School Resource Officer (SRO) responsibilities
Protect students and faculty
Provide campus security during school hours
Investigate criminal offenses on and off campus
Plan and participate
in juvenile delinquency operations
Some of the specific SRO responsibilities that are outlined in the agreement include protecting students and faculty, providing campus security during school hours, investigating criminal
offenses involving students both on and off campus, and planning and participating in operations that involve juvenile delinquency.

Terms of Agreement
SRO Program funded by the City of Southlake
One year term, renewable annually
The SRO agreement covers the expanded program, outlines the duties and responsibilities of both the City of Southlake and Carroll Independent School District, and will automatically
renew in one year increments unless either party opts out.
