0581 ORDINANCE NO. O~'g// AN ORDINANCE CONFIRMING AND ADOPTING THE OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE; PROVIDING FOR THE FILING OF THE OFFICIAL BOUNDARY MAP; PROVIDING THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE CUMULATIVE OF ALL ORDINANCES; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Southlake, Texas is a home rule city acting under its charter adopted by the electorate pursuant to Article XI, Section 5 of the Texas Constitution and Chapter 9 of the Local Government Code; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Southlake, Texas, has heretofore requested the City Engineer to determine the official boundaries of the city limits of the City of Southlake; and WHEREAS, the City Council now desires to adopt this ordinance confirming and adopting the boundaries and map attached hereto as the official boundaries of the city limits of the City of Southlake, Texas. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS: SECTION 1 That the map and boundaries attached hereto as Exhibit "A" are hereby declared to be the official city limit boundaries of the City of Southlake, Texas, as of the effective date of this ordinance, and all territory or land located within these boundaries is declared to be within the City of Southlake. The officfal boundary map of the City of Southlake shall be updated periodically at such time as additional annexations or other changes and boundaries are officially adopted by the City of Southlake. sl-I l\bou ndar y.or d(031693) Page 1 SECTION 2 The City Secretary is directed to maintain a copy of said map and boundary description, as amended from time to time, as a part of the official records of the City of Southlake, Texas. SECTION 3 The adoption of this ordinance shall not affect any ordinance, act or proceeding heretofore made applicable to any territory or land treated as being within the City of Southlake at the time said ordinance, act or proceeding was effective, notwithstanding the fact that such land or territory may not be included within the official boundaries of the City of Southlake as adopted herein. SECTION 4 This ordinance shall be cumulative of all provisions of ordinances of the City of Southlake, Texas, except where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with the provisions of such ordinances, in which event the conflicting provisions of such ordinances are hereby repealed. SECTION 5 It is hereby declared to be the intention of the City Council that the phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs and sections of this ordinance are severable, and if any phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph or section of this ordinance shall be declared unconstitutional by the valid judgment or decree of any court of competent jurisdiction, such unconstitutionality shall not affect any of the remaining phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs and sections of this ordinance, since the same would have been enacted by the City Council without the incorporation in this ordinance of any such unconstitutional phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph or section. si-Il\boundary.oral(031693) Page 2 SECTION 6 This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage provided by law, and it is so ordained.
