PROPOSED BY LoNE STAR GAS COMPANY'; PROVIDING FOR
~EV~tBILITY; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTiv~ DATE*
N~AS, Lone Star Gas Company, a natural gas utility
provider for the area lying within the corporate boundaries of
the City of Southlake, Texas, has filed a Statement of Intent to
change residential and commercial rates; and
W[t~REAS, pursuant to the laws of the State of Texas,
.including the Gas Utility Regulatory Act, the city Council of the
City of Southlake, Texas, is required to evaluate said proposed
change iD gas utility rates and to deterlmine whether such rates
are fair, just and reasonable for the service provided; and
W~EREAS, the City Council of the ,City of Southlake has
undertaken a careful review of all materials contained in the
Statement of Intent to change residential and commercial rates,
filed by Lone Star Gas Company; and
W~AS, the City Council of the City of Southlake has
Gonsidered th~ size ~f the service area and quality of ~s
utility service, the al~parent cost of providing said service,
evaluated rea~o~ble rates of return for.the provision of
se~Vices, and has considered the frequency and extent of
requests for incr%aaes in residential and co~mercial gas u~ili~y
r~tes; and
NH~REAS, after ~ua and careful consideraKion the ~lty
Council of ~he' City ~f Sou~hlake has determined that the r&~e
increases requested by Lone Star Gas Company in the Statemen= of
Intent filed with the Texas Railroad Commission are just, fair
and reasonable, and.should be implemented.
ORDAINED BY THE CITY
SECTION 1
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS:
COUNCIL OF THE
SECTION 3
Any and all ordinances in conflict herewith are herein
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4
That 'this ordinance shall become effective
after passage on
second reading as provided by the home rule charter of the City
of Southlake.

PASSED ON SECOND AND FINAL READING ON THIS ~ DAY OF
holding shall in no way affect the validity of the remaining
portions of this ordinance which shall remain in full force and
effect.
That the charges and rates for the provision of natural gas
utility service within the corporate limits of the City of
Southlake, Texas, shall be as set forth in the information filed
and contained with the Statement of Intent filed by Lone Star Gas
Company.
SECTION 2
That if any provision, section, paragraph, clause, or word
of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional, such
