AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 306
RELATING TO NUISANCES; PROVIDING THAT THE
ISSUANCE OF ALL PERMITS REQUIRED BY THE
ORDINANCE TO BE ISSUED BY THE CITY MANAGER;
AMENDING THE PENALTY PROVISIONS OF SUCH
ORDINANCE BY PROVIDING A PENALTY NOT TO
EXCEED THE SUM OF TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS
($2,000.00) FOR EACH OFFENSE AND A SEPARATE
OFFENSE SHALL BE DEEMED COMMITTED EACH DAY
DURING OR ON WHICH A VIOLATION OCCURS OR
CONTINUES; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE;
AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all of the above premises

Section 2. That, from and after the effective date of
this Ordinance all permits referred to in Ordinance No. 306 of
the City relating to nuisances shall hereafter be issued and
renewed by the City Manager, or his designee, and further that
no permit shall be issued or renewed for a period exceeding
fourteen (14) days.
Section 3. That Section 5 of Ordinance No. 306 shall
be amended to read as follows:
"Any person violating any of the provisions
of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of
a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof
shall be fined in a sum not to exceed Two
Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00) and a separate
offense shall be deemed committed upon each
day during or on which a violation occurs or
continues."
Section 4. Severability Clause. If any section,
article, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word in this
ordinance, or application thereof to any person or.
circumstances is held invalid or unconstitutional by a Court of
competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the
validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance; and the
City Council hereby declares it would have passed such
remaining portions of the ordinance despite such invalidity,
which remaining portions shall remain in full force and effect.
