~kN OtLDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE,
TEXAS, ADOPTING THE NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE,
1987 EDITION, AND ALL APPENDIXES AS THE
ELECTRIC CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE;
PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; PROVIDING A
SEVEP~ABILITY CLAUSE; kND PROVIDING FOR A
PENALTY OF FINE NOT TO EXCEED TWO THOUSAND
DOLLARS ($2,000.00) FOR EACH OFFENSE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS:
Section 1. National Electric Code. That the National
Electric Code, 1987 Edition with appendixes, a copy of which is
on file in the office of the City Secretary of the City of
Southlake, Texas, is hereby adopted and designated as the
Electric Code of the City of Southlake the same as though the
code were copied at length herein.
Section 2. Any person violating any of the provisions
of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and
upon conviction thereof shall be fined in a sum not to exceed
Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00). A separate offense shall be
deemed committed upon each day during or on which a violation
occurs or continues.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be cumulative of all
other ordinances of the City and shall not repeal any of the
provisions of said ordinances except in those instances where
provisions of those ordinances are in direct conflict with the
provisions of this Ordinance.
Section 5. If any section, article, paragraph,
sentence, clause, phrase or word in chis ordinance, or
application thereof to any person or circumstances is held
invalid or unconstitutional by a Court of competent
jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions of this ordinance; and the City Council
hereby declares it would have passed such remaining portions of
the ordinance despite such invalidity, which remaining portions
shall remain in full force and effect.
