SWI2~V~NG POOLS AND EQUIP~ RELATED THE~TO:
REQUIIlNG A PE~V[[T AND INSPEC~IC~ THEREFOR; pROVIDING
WHEREAS, due to tile expansiv~ ~nd rapid growth of the swin~ning pool
industry ~ld for the general health, welfare ~ld safety of the residents of the
City of Southlake, Texas, it is deemed necessary by tJ]e City Co~cil ,after
hearing recc~mendaticns of administrative officials of said City that a
re~lato~y ordinance is deemed necessai7 in c~nnection with swin~ning pools; and,
~EAS, the existing ordinances of the City of Southlake, Texan are not
fully adequate to acco~olish such purpose;
NOW ~REFORE BE tT ORDAINED BY T~ CITY COONCIL OF ~2 CITY OF
~ne Southern Standard Swishing Pool Code, 1974 Edition, copyri~ated by Southern
Building Code Congress, consishing of 21 numbered pages exclusive of index, except
as specifically modified by this ordinance, is hereby adopted as the "Switching
Pool Code" of tJ~e City of Southlake, Texas.
SECTION 2- ~TIVE OF OTHER ORDINANCES: ~s ordinance shall be and is hereby
declared cumulative of the provisions of other applicable ordinances of the city
of Southlake, Texas including all amendments thereto. It is provided however, that
a hi~ner standard provided by other lawfully adopted rule, regulation, resolution,
ordinance, private deed restriction or private covenant, shall not be considered
an irreconcilable conflict with this ordinance, and the hi~her standard, in the
event of conflict, shall govern.
SECTION 3- PENALTY FOR VIOLATION : The first paragraph of Section of the said 1974
edition of the Southern Standard Swishing Pool Code is hereby deleted and in lieu
thereof the following shall apply:
"Any person, firm, association of persons, cc~any, or corporation, or their agents,
servant% or ewployees who violate, disobey, omit, neglect or refuse to comply with
any provisions of this ordinance shall be ~ilty of a Class C misdemganor and may be
fined not less t~an $1.00 nor more than $200.00 for each offense. Each day that a
violation exists is hereby declared to be a distinct and separate offense and
ptnishable by law."
