Effective with the first gas bills rendered from and after ~lirty (30) days from the date of final passage of this ordinance, the maximum general service rate for sales of natural gas rendered to residential and conra~rcial const~,ers within the city limits of Southlake, Texas, lone Star Gas Company, its successors and assigns, is hereby fixed and determined as follows: First 1000 Cu. Ft. or Fraction Thereof $3.000 Over 1000 Cu. Ft. @ $2. 120 Per Mcf No gas bill will be rendered to any residential or co~rcial consnl~er seI~ed under the above rate not cons~mling any gas during any monthly billing period, except ti]at where customer's only use for gas service is in an outdoor grill and/or a fireplace starter, the amol~t shown for the first coasumptic~ blod~ shall constitute a minimum monthly bill. ADJUSTMm~S ~ne a~ount of ead~ monthly bill cc~puted at the above stated rates shall be subject to the following adjustments: Plus or minus the amount of any increase or decrease, respectively, above or below the $1.3488 per Mcf level in the intracc~pany city gate charge as authorized by the Railroad Co~nissic~ of the State of Texas or o~]er regulatory body having jurisdiction for gas delivered to Irene Star Gas Com~m~y's distribution syst~ for sale to residential and c~,.~rcial cons%~ers where suc~ changes are caused by increases or decreases in the cost of gas purchased by the Company; plus an amount equivalent to the proportionate part of any now tax, or increased tax, or any o~]er governmental ~position, rental, fee or charge (except state, county, city and special district ad valorem taxes ~nd taw~s on net income) levied, assessed or /reposed subsequent to July 1, 1976, upon or allocable to the Cc~pany's distribution operations, by any new or a~eeded law, ordinance or contract. Company, at its option, may forego the application of any adjustment if such adjustn~nt v~puld result in an increase in the monthly bill; however, failure of Company to apply any adjustment shall not constitute a waiver of Ccm~any's right frc~ time to time, or at any time, to make any adjastmsnt, in ~]ole or in part, in any subsequent current monthly bill that may be applicable to such bill. All bills shall be due and payable when rendered. The above rate is applicable to each residential and commercial consu~ner per meter per mun~l or for any part of a month for which gas is used at the location. F~ibit "A" pa~ 3 CLASS OF SERVICE: 9esidenti~l and Omn~erclal Sumner Air conditioning Applicable to gas comsumed by Texas residential and commercial summer air conditioning custc~rs between the meter reading dates in May and October each year. Residential: ~]e regular general service rate shall apply to the first 8,000 cubic feet conslm~ption (regular ccnslmptico) per month. Beginning with the first step, the regular general service rate less $ .25 per Mcf shall be applied to all gas used in excess of 8,000 cubic feet. %hese amoLmts will be combined to determine the total bill. A bill is also calculated by applying the ~eneral service rate to the total consumption. ~e two bills are compared and the lower of %he two is the amount billed to the custcmer. Cc~rercial: There are two ways of detezmining the air conditioning consumption on a crm~ercial accost. One way is to compute the air cc~tioning MCF per ncminal ton installed capacity frcm the following schedule: July August September October - 8 ~CF per nominal ton installed capacity - 9 MCF per nominal ton installed capacity - 9 MCF per nominal ton installed capacity - 8 MCF par nonlnal ton installed capacity - 5 MCF par nominal ton installed capacity ~ne other way of determining the air conditioning MCF is to have a separate meter that measures the air conditioning conslmption. In either case, the air conditioning consumption cannot exceed 95% of the total consumption. The regular general service rate shall apply bo gas consumed for all purposes otJ]er ti]an for sunmer air conditioning. Beginning with the first step, the regular general service rate less $ .25 per Mcr shall be applied to the air conditioning consumption. ~hese ano~nks are conbined to determine the total bill. PROMPT PAYMEAIC PFOVISION: Any prat payment provision established for non-air conditioning period under the general service rate for the n~r~ipality being billed is applicable. The normal gss cost adjustment applicable in each town will be applied to the ~otal consumption including gas conslm~d for purposes other than air conditioning. Any other billing adjustments applicable to the regular rates shall also apply to billing ~der this rate. 'Ibis supplemental rate is available to all residential and co~n~reial summer air conditioning customers throughout the company's Texas operating area except in ~hc~ towns set out on okher rate schedules.
