0199ORDINANCE NO. 199
AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING TERRITORY
ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE~CITY OF SOUTH-
LAKE, TEXAS; PROVIDING THAT SUCH AREA SHALL
BECOME A PART OF SAID CITY AND THAT THE OWNERS
AND INHABITANTS THEREOF SHALL BE ENTITLED TO
ALL THE PRIVILEGES OF THE OTHER CITIZENS OF
SAID CITY, AND BE BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDIN-
ANCES NOW IN EFFECT AND TO BE HEREAFTER ADOPTED;
FURTHER PROVIDING FOR AMENDING AND CORRECTING
THE OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF SAID CITY AS HERETO-
FORE ADOPTED AS AMENDED AND DESIGNATING THE
ZONING AS "AG" DISTRICT; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the Acts of 1953,
53rd Legizlature, Page 357, Chapter 93, codified as Article
974-G, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, John Love, President of
Love-Henry & Associates, Incorporated, a corporation of Dallas
County, Texas, owners of the real property hereinafter described,
having made application as by law provided to the Mayor and City
Council of the City of Southlake, Texas, for annexation of a
tract of land situated in Tarrant County, Texas, out of the
Hollingsworth & Barnett Survey, Abstract No. 797, more particular-
ly described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at an iron rod for corner in the South line
of Continental Boulevard (County Road No. 3099), same
being in the West line of said Survey;
THENCE South 89° 47 minutes 24 seconds East along said
South line of Continental Boulevard for a distance of
1730.80 feet to an iron rod for corner, same being the
Northwest corner of a tract of land as described in
Volume 3705, page 362, Deed Records of Tarrant County,
Texas;
THENCE South 0° 0 minutes 57 seconds West along a
fence and along the West line of the last mentioned
tract, for a distance of 757.78 feet to an iron rod
for corner, same being the Southwest corner of said
tract;
THENCE North 89° 47 minutes 55 seconds East along a
fence for a distance of 460.61 feet to an iron rod
for corner;
THENCE South 0° 14 minutes 35 seconds West along a
fence for a distance of 1055.60 feet to an iron rod
for corner;
THENCE North 89° 47 minutes 27 seconds East along a
fence, for a distance of 479.21 feet to an iron rod
for corner;
THENCE South 01° 35 minutes 16 seconds East along a
fence for a distance of 214.37 feet to an iron rod
for corner;
THENCE South 03° 01 minute 36 seconds East along a
fence for a distance of 529.78 feet to an angle iron
for corner;
THENCE South 89° 33 minutes 21 seconds West for a
distance of 2,689.02 feet to an iron rod for corner;
THENCE North 0° 18 minutes 30 seconds West along a
fence for a distance of 2,643.74 feet to the place
of BEGINNING, containing 132.97 acres of land, more
or less.
A plat of said land showing its location with respect to the
boundary of the City of Southlake, Texas, is attached hereto marked
FXHIBIT "A"; And
WHEREAS, it appearing to the City Council of the City of
Southlake, Texas, that all statutory requirements in connection
with said proposed annexation have been fulfilled and that the
above described area is not more than one-half mile in width, that
not more than three qualified voters reside thereon, and that the
same is adjacent to the present city limits of the City of Southlake,
Texas; Now
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS:
THAT, the property hereinabove described being adjacent and conti-
guous to the city limits of Southlake, Texas, be and is hereby
annexed and brought within the corporate limits of said City and
is hereby made an integral part thereof.
THAT, the owners and inhabitants of the area herein annexed be en-
titled to all of the rights and privileges of other citizens and
property owners of said City and be bound by all of the acts and
ordinances made in conformity thereto, now in full force and effect
and that which may be hereafter adopted.
THAT, the official map and boundaries of the City of Southlake,
Texas, as heretofore adopted and amended, be and is hereby amended
so as to include the aforementioned territory as part of the City
of Southlake, Texas.
